A litter of very poisonous Indian cobra babies has just seen daylight here in Randers Regnskov. At the moment they can be found in the cage nest to the king cobra, together with some of the eggshells, from which they hatched.
The young cobras may not look very dangerous. However, from the time the young cobras hatch from their eggs, they are in fact very poisonous to us humans. The fangs and poison glands are fully developed, and since these small snakes have a very bad temper, they will not hesitate to defend themselves by delivering a lethal bite, to whom ever gets too close to them!
De adult Indian cobras are not currently in the exhibit in Randers Regnskov. When the new king cobra arrived, it took over the former cage of the adult Indian cobras.
