a cockroach sheds its skin 13 times before reaching adulthood.
Handicapped parking
From the main entrance there are 25 meters to 4 parking spaces for people with disabilities and 8 meters to the nearest tourist bus stop. From the parking spaces and the stop there is smooth asphalt and a 2 meter wide path all the way to the main entrance.
Wheelchair access
With the exception of the footpaths to three vantage points, one in each of the three domes, the footpaths in Randers Regnskov are accessible for wheelchair users. Luckily, more than 95% of the exhibition can be viewed without access to the vantage points, seeing that these simply provide the opportunity to view the exhibition from a different angle.
In order to get a true rainforest experience, several of the footpaths have an inclination of more than 8%. Therefore, wheelchair driving in these areas calls for a good physique, or the help of a companion. The width of the footpaths is at least 90 centimeters, in most places more than 2 meters.
Most paths are accessible for wheelchair users.
Lift at the entrance
A lift at the entrance ensures easy access for guests with a physical handicap. Another lift will transport you to our café and the aquarium.
If you need to rest your legs, there are several benches along the paths in the domes.
Helpers free of charge
If you are a wheelchair user and you need aid to get around, your helper will be admitted free of charge.
guide dogs are not allowed
As more than half of the animals in Randers Regnskov are free ranging, it is unfortunately not possible to bring a guide dog to the exhibitions. You can, however, put your guide dog in a sheltered area outside the entrance to Randers Regnskov. Ask the staff at the Information; they will be glad to help you.
toilet facilities
There is a restroom for the disabled in the lunch area next to the African dome, and another one in the vestibule.
